While on the older drill holes subject...
What about filling the HUGE hole with a brass plug and than drilling a straight hole through it?
I have a blade that I removed some pretty eaten up scales from and the hole is pretty messed up. Looks like it was erroded from both sides at different points, till they met in the middle. I've been playing with the idea of drilling it out and lineing the hole with a plug than drill a straight hole in it. Seems like a lot of work but I get bored sometimes and these things make the times fly by

Why not cut out the 'middleman' and use larger brass tubing?
This way you don't have to do the redrilling at the end?
Unless, that is, the hole is MUCH larger than brass tubing would accomodate for....
What about putting a mosaic pin in the large hole, and using the pivot-pin for the center of the mosaic?
