    Default Making brush handles

I'm looking to make some brush handles out of manzanita, go figure. I'm thinking it's not that hard but need to varify the inset for the "knot". If the knot says it's 24mm, is that the base? And would I gouge the hole to 25mm?

Anyone building brush handles with the know how have some pointers

I'm no expert but the mm size is the base of the knot but the epoxied area can be irregular and a mm in size larger or smaller. You may have to trim the base of the puck or epoxied base. I would wait until I actually have the knot in hand then do your measuring. Alot of guys put stirofoam or some other filler in the base for a fudge factor. Some mount the puck base in a metal sleeve and then put that in the handle base. It depends how much finesse you want.
