Default It’s not just the shop.

Everything that has been said in this thread applies equally well to my desk, my bookcase, my dining room table and my garage.

I know exactly where everything is - somewhere under the pile!

I've heard it said, "Never trust a service man whose van is too clean."

My workroom doesn't have many tools but I alway close my vice, does that count?

My garage is another matter I have loads of car tools that I keep on a pegboard mostly, they always stay tidy because my trailer is in the way of getting at them.

I never close my vice completely. I leave it at a minimum of 1/2 turn open.

I have never had problems but was taught that doing that leaves the handle/bar/rod [What is the proper term?] Loose so if you hit it or grab it it moves.

It made sense to me and I didn't question my elders!

You have more tools than the last time I visited you shop.

Or did you just clean them up and arrange them for the picture?
