    Default Reworked Genco

This Genco(belongs to a member here) had severe corrosion to the blade at the edge due to gassing of the scales.I put a coat of epoxy over the inside of the scales, then clear enamel, then polished the scales.the blade took a lot of rework, notice that I had to put a lot of smile into it to get by all the rust.Just need to make a pearl insert for the oval, and it will be good to go.I already set the bevel, and honed to 12 k.It will be a great shaver

The blade and scales look really great! I don't mind "smiles" myself, and what you did from the photos looks very good to me.

Have you found that the method you describe prevents further celluloid rot? That'd be great to know, as so many razors did have celluloid scales.

    Chris,
I cant really say if this will prevent further corossion.,Ive done some this way before, been doing it for 4or 5 years, and havent heard any complaints, although thats not much time.It seems to happen most to these fake tortoise looking scales, and usually under the clear color parts. Bst Regards Gary
