Howee! Thats a lot! Actually sold my Honda CR250 woods bike a month ago. You might try that some, Randy!
Don't miss it in the least.
I had a naked '76 GL1000. Loved riding the thing, but eternal starter issues. Too heavy for my narrow ass to put on the center stand so after sitting overnight on the side stand, it would smoke like crazy for a while.
That house has been on you for a long time. I hope you can free yourself up soon!

Thanked: 4827Here we go
The perimeter has +/- 2’ strawberry beds, the side with the two posts has been filled between the posts, on the inside with the recycled green roofing stell that is around the back of the strawberries and there are two blueberry bushes beside the huckleberry bush. What is not done is the cast iron hand pump with water plumbed into it and spilling into a container then back into the pond. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 4827I try to add recycled content on projects.
This is how the used metal roofing is set up to create the back border and weed barrier along the strawberry beds. I have also seen these satellite dishes recycle into shed and gazebo roofs. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 4206Frugally cool and great idea with the dish. I wouldn’t have thought it’d look that nice without seeing it in the ground.
Are you adding a fountain feature? Will keep the water clean and look awesome.
Nice work on the edging as well, I love repurposing stuff onto new life too.Last edited by MikeB52; 05-20-2021 at 11:27 PM. Reason: Ahh missed the part about the hand pump fountain. Cool

Thanked: 4206I suppose this would qualify as a separate Covid project.
Couple old shellback chairs mounted on spring steel from up at the cottage were old and beat up. The opinion was toss them.
I thought, hell no they can be saved. .
Cut off the old hardware and start to dig into the old, really hard to remove lead paint. Outside of course.
Found some old repairs and new ones needed so I can practice my soldering a bit. Can also practice my prime and paint process a bit fore the big event.
And at the end of this little project, I’ll have two chairs in the colour of the car to assess if I really like it, before committing to the chassis..

Thanked: 4827There is an elevated piece of granite in the centre of the pond, for putting a pot for a water plant. It won’t have a fountain, it will have some circulation of the water. Too much aeration and the frogs won’t want to live there. It will be a nice spot to relax with my morning coffee, or in the evening with a bottle of water. I do love frog sounds, so I am attracting them. The prey birds will hand out in the summer as well. The last time it was set up we had a regular group of ravens, a peregrine that showed for the summer. It’s too open for the little birds, they like the honeysuckle hedge.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

First off, I'm not sure Mike should be allowed to take part in this thread as we already all know he has the coolest project ever on the go, COVID or not.
I rebuilt our deck last summer and thankfully bought the lumber early in the spring before prices started going crazy. Lesson learned: if you're fixing some other idiot's mistakes in deck building, just tear the damn thing down and start from scratch. Honestly, the structure below looked like it was designed and built by a drunk apprentice. But it got there in the end.
The most fun project I've taken on has probably been turning a log splitter into a forging press. Details here: https://wetshaversworkshop.com/index...ternative.708/
I'm happy to say it works really well. It wouldn't be any good for serious or production work, but for a hobbyist, it's just fine.
