Jerry it’s fine. Even put some soil in it then seed and tamp dow. The grass should be over the concrete, if there is a hump back where the form was just run the tractor over it They ain’t heavy enough to hurt or if you have a barrel roller for your yard but as Tom says time and mowing will do the trick. I know of what he speaks ,, my yard is an obsession with me,, like Tom does I’m going to overseer this fall, I hate waiting for the Bermuda to fluff up and green up, Usaullay first week of June I have a 4” green carpet,,

Here’s a good view of what edges should be

I did use the hose and blasted the dirt under the roots to wash that out some. I think I will do this a few times to loosen it up then roll the wife's SUV on it. I don't want to use the truck. That's just asking for trouble. It's a bit on the heavy side.
Many years ago I had an old piece in a flower bed of a home we'd just bought and was left from when someone had built a fence and the fence was later removed but the piece was left in place. It was two vertical pieces of 3/8" steel about 2"s wide and a foot tall with two 1/2 holes drilled through it. I dug down about a foot, hooked my '85 Toyota 4X4 pickup to it with a 3/8" chain and gave it a tug. I thought it was going to rip the bumper off of the truck.

My neighbor was a long haul trucker and I watched out for his place, fed his cat etc while he was on the road, so the next time he came home and left his trailer parked elsewhere I asked him if he'd use the tractor to pull out the old piece and he said sure.

Well I also had an over grown bush that the wife wanted removed so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone so the night before the big pulling event I let the garden hose run at a very low volume at the old piece for a couple of hours and also the bush.

Bright and early I heard my neighbor fire up the tractor so I headed out and told him that I'd soaked both areas and he said he'd pull the bush first. Well the bush was right beside the road and the old piece was much further in but the bush popped right out but left a pretty big crater.

As the neighbor started to go back into the yard in to pull the old piece the ground gave way next to where the bush had been and he sunk into the yard to the axle! He tried to back out but the tires were just spinning.

I knocked on another neighbors door and he and I hooked our 4X4 pickup to the tractors frame with chains and by God we got enough downward pull that the tires grabbed and he got out.

I added extra chain and he pulled the old piece out from the road.

I'd like to shake the hand of the man that set that old piece to hold a 4X4 as the concrete the steel uprights were in was 2 feet deep and the ball at the bottom was about 2 foot in diameter!

No wonder my little truck couldn't budge it.

Jerry, if you put a set of wheels barely on the concrete and mow that strip, it might surprise you after a while.

Great job, Mike! I would love to sit in one at the cottage! Yes. The green is good!

Those chairs look to be most intriguing. I would like to see them in person, maybe sit by the pool. Next GTA meet perhaps...

My Granny Davis had similar metal chairs except hers had round tubing and the seat and back were a much lighter green, also there weren't any arm rests and the tubing was white.

I imagine like Granny's that Mike's also has a bit of a 'rocking motion'. I had all 4 of Granny's chairs and they needed refinishing but during the divorce the now ex just hauled them to the dump.

A local antique shop had some for sale at $75 each and they needed refinishing

I have a much newer set of those chairs. We use them in the back yard in the grass. They have a matching table too. I think yours are much cooler looking, Mike. Nice job fixing them up.

TC, my grass is 2+ inches higher than my concrete. Id love for it to be like yours. With the old driveway it was like yours but the concrete was pushed up. I think its going to be a slow process but I will smash it down. And it should fill in the gap some too. Then I will fill whats left sith soil.

Thanks gents, I’m digging the green colour as well.
Been staring at them in different light and angles and I’m excited to lay this shade on the car.

Really look forward to the next legal gtg for sure and would really enjoy it if we could time it with you being in Ontario Shaun!

Great Idea! I recall my auto body instructor saying that while a color on a car with a lot of 'roundness of the body panels' might look really good, that same color on a car that had more or less 'flat sides of the body panel' wouldn't look nearly as good.
