Does anyone have the link to the 3 Bar Method ??
I will put it in the Workshop Page if we can find it

ps: My experience with the 3 Bars is

The older the razor the more likely it will work, but I have snapped one, and it was a nice razor too

Anymore I work on "Tweaking" the scales to fit the razor, than the razor to fit the scales

3 bars seems like the best option. I'm afraid of heat creating a twist

That is probably why you see old/vintage razors with bent tangs. They learned a long time ago that there is more than one way to skin a cat.

I don't know, old ones can be very brittle too. I had a tang snap at the pivot hole on a S. Crookes & Son, an incredibly rare gem, when I dropped it on the tile. Upside is that it can be silver soldered. If done right you'd never know. Same applies if you snapped it trying to straighten it

No kidding! Talk about agony of defeat. I did the 3 bar once and was there really, within the acceptible range and went back to get the last little bit when "TINK!" Heart sinking anguish ensued.

Adjusting the scales NOT the tang

I just had to do one here:

    https://sharprazorpalace.com/custom-...ml#post1985393

It shows the process including how to test them, hope it gives you some insight

If it was just the tang that had a bent and the blade is not warped, hone as normal.

Not sure how a bent tang would affect anything other than esthetics unless it is bent before the pivot hole.
If it closes fine then no problem.
