Tückmar with lacewood
My last project. The Tückmar razor had some serious problems with rust (first pic.). For this reason I hat to polish not only the rust, no the gold was also gone away.
The handle in a traditional shape is from lacewood. The wedge is a 3 layer one, from brass, german silver, brass.Last edited by Buddel; 10-06-2007 at 10:18 AM.

You always come up with interesting designs, but this is by far my favorite. Beautiful work!

Beautiful scales and work, but I cannot stop looking at the spine on that blade. Amazing

Wow...that is beautiful. I don't think the gold coming off is really any loss. I chatting with JoshEarl, I think that the gold has to be near perfect or it make the blade look cheap...not sure why...maybe because it is such a contract to the steel.
Regardless, this look amazing! The wedge adds just the right subtle touch. Great work!

Beautiful work, Buddel! Great idea for the spacer, too. What I'm wondering: with a decorative spine like this one, do you have to protect it with electric tape every time you hone?
