Did you actually use the wood as a capture for the nuts or are the nuts outside the wood ?( I hope that makes sense. )

Thanked: 105The nuts are recessed into the wood. Used a step drill then cut the corners for the nuts to capture them. I hope that makes sense.
Could not find any knurled barrel nuts that small , will have to see about making some?

I like how you did the spacer with each half integrated into either scale. COOL!
I like the idea of threaded fasteners. I think that it would look better with the nuts filed round. Maybe chuck up a bolt in the drill and file the corners off the nuts.
I am not being critical just thinking out loud with the benefit of hindsight.

I agree...very nice fit and finish. I like the overall shape of the scales and the photo from above shows how well you fitted the blade and spacer.
