I found mine at Walgreen's too. They had two, so I bought both

Also, I have gone over the blade about 4 times, wiping the polish on, letting it dry, then buffing it out. It seems to be working...slowly. Each time I wipe it clean, the cloth is covered in black stuff, yet there's still a good amount of tarnish left.

I'll keep at it. It's not going to hurt the blade by using this stuff frequently, will it?

Ive been rubbing it in with pressure, then I wipe it off with a clean cloth.

What do you guys think of rubbing MAAS on with some 2000 grit sandpaper? There's still a good amount of tarnish on the blade from about 10 times over with MAAS and a normal cloth.

My experience with MAAS (I use Flitz right now, I believe it to be essentially the same stuff) is that it has a threshold on removing tarnish. For me it seems to hit that threshold (applied with a cloth) and that's it, no more tarnish removed. I have not tried with 2000 grit wet dry but I think it's a good idea.

Is it naval jelly that will turn the blades black if it's left to sit on the steel? I thought someone had said MAAS did the same thing for them, or they doused the blade in MAAS and it blackened the blade (oxidized) in a bad way? I could be wrong.

Hmm, I'm not sure. So far I've let the stuff sit on the razor for a few minutes before I buff it out with the cloth, and the cloth is covered in the black residue. However, the rest of the blade looks VERY nice...just a bunch of these tarnish spots left.

I find that MAAS works better for me if I let it set for 10-15 minutes. I only use a cloth to wipe it off. On some of my restoration razors, I find that MAAS removes embedded grime even after 5-6 applications. YMMV!
