After several applications of MAAS, I can definitely say that there is some pitting on the blade. The scales cleaned up surprisingly well and the blade overall is cleaning up nicely.

I can tell that there was gold wash on the tang, shaft and on the shoulder, however, I cannot tell how far the gold wash went on the blade / spine. Also, I see something that could be a design on the blade itself, but it may just be irregularly shaped water stains.

Does anyone have a photo of a WR Case & Sons "Copper KING" that might allow me to see how much gold wash was originally on the blade?

Can't help you with the pictures or info on the Case, But as for using your great grandfathers razor, that's cool. My dad has his grandfathers razor sitting in a case in his dresser. I tried to get it from him but he's not ready to part with it. I forget the brand but it is very clean and unfortunately has a slight frown to it, but that can easily be fixed.

Good luck and be proud of what you got. As stated earlier, not to many people can say they have grandpops razor.

I had my grandfathers mirror, wade shaving mug and brush. The mug and mirror got smashed when we moved house and now I can't find his brush. The brush was an old Vulfix(spelling??) I have used it recently and I remember my daughter asking what it was for a few months ago
