Thanked: 28If they are brown or black then I suspect they are buffalo horn.
Sand them with progressively finer grits, buff them, then rub in some neatsfoot oil, baby oil, olive oil or similar.

Thanked: 0My poor razor has what are alleged to be bone scales.... kind of an offwhite color, with obvious grain lines. It needs to be cleaned.
What would you guys recommend? I don't want to try sanding, is there a prefered cleanser for bone?

Try a metal polish like MAAS.
