No worries, lookie what I picked up today at a "trading post".
That is what the front side looked like about five hours ago.
This is what the back side looks like now. I should have spent more time on the lower grit paper, but I got impatient. I don't know if i will redo it or not.
Any advice on how to keep the emblem on the front? The back was just as damaged as the front, but without the emblem. Should I send it to someone to refurbish? It definitely needs new scales which I could probably do if they came in a kit or something. I just don't want to F-it up, cause I really want to shave with it.
Thanks,
Forrest

Thanked: 3795You wanted advice...
First, and most importantly, friends don't let friends touch their razors!
Second, if you still want to fix it yourself, I'd start with a lower grit than 220 as those look like deep gouges.
Third, remember you do have the option of not making it pretty and just honing it and using it as is.
Fourth, on the bright side, it sure looks like the rust is gone!
Finally, I'd second passing it on to Philadelph to let him experiment with it. H*ll, he can't make it worse and in exchange for letting him practice on it, you might end up with something much nicer.
