    Default Question about pins

I bought some brass rod from a hobby shop today to pin a set of scales. When I got home I realized that it was "soft metal." It's quite flexible and bends with ease. This shouldn't be used correct?

Use it. That's the stuff. The brass rods used for pins is really soft- otherwise you probably couldn't peen them very well. You can bend that stuff easily with your hands, just try not to lol. Don't worry though, when used for pins, it's actually kind of hard to bend the straight pin out of shape since it is such a small piece.
