Look right above you! Send a PM to FloppyShoes (I picked up a W&B from him that he honed .... very smooth shaver).

    Cheers,

    Rick

i have decided to take all of your advice and send it out. for now i am practicing my honing on my existing razor so i still have lots of learning to do.

i haven't even sent it and i can't wait to get it back.

i really appreciate all the advice as i would not have wanted to mess up and ruin my find.

    Fantastic buy!

    You did amazingly well.

Great news is, that blade is VERY salvage-able, AND its with its original box n strop.

One word of caution though. Of all the Puma blades, the one's with the faux tortise scales have been known to degrade. Keep your eye on those scales. If they look as if they are getting cloudy, or if there seems to be a rust-haze on the blade, then the scales have to go!

    Otherwise, great job!

alright so while floppy shoes is honing my Puma i actually went back to the store and got another one off the guy. it looked to be in better shape but i don't know. there was a bit of rust on the edge so i tried to rub a bit away lightly (and i mean lightly) and the edge chipped away a bit. i was hoping i could try to get an edge on it myself but this is beyond my tools and my know how.

here is a pic. i was a little disappointed but again for $25 all i need to do is have it honed up and i am set i think.

Even that is fixable. Whether you removed it or not, the rusted out edge would have to be removed.

ya atleast it hasn't been messed with at all. it is actually brand new and was never honed so there is lots of metal to work with. the rest is in pretty good shape and i actually considered having it honed and giving it to my dad as a christmas present. i don't know if he will use it though. if not i know i will.

hey floppyshoes, not to be impatient in any way but how is my other puma coming if you don't mind me asking?
