Thanked: 12Horn Scales
Sorry, couldn't figure out the "Edit" function! Will your boiling technique also work with horn scales? Joe

"Hey Joe"... ( I always loved the Jimi Hendrix version of the song!)
I always use this method ( I prefer the hair dryer method) on decades old horn scales and it works great, and YES I always put them in the fridge to cool quickly. As a side note...clean the scales first (before you apply heat) to get rid of all dirt and grease etc. I like to use a rotary tooth brush and grease cutting dish detergent.Lupus Cohors - Appellant Mors !

Thanked: 12Thanks Wolfpack: I'm looking forward to trying your technique. I have a number of razors with warped scales that I have been holding onto with the idea that I would just make new scales for them. Some of them have been waiting for their new scales for a couple of years now!
"Hey Joe" was on the radio when I was a teenager. I can't tell you how many times I had somebody sing to me, "Heeeeey Joe, where ya goin' with that gun in your hand...". Love Jimmi.I see that you're a Veteran. May I say, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR. Two boys that grew-up with my son served in Iraq and Falujah (splg?) I knew them when they were just little kids. They saw some horrible stuff, both came back with PTSD. I am a supporter of Wounded Warriors. I like bumping into Vietnam Vets to thank them. The way they were treated when they returned is a National disgrace. Thank you again for your service, Joe
