Thanked: 8Soaking to clean
HI all,
I have a frameback razor that I can not for the life of me get the blade out of. I have removed the screw and it is still stuck in there. I am wondering what I could soak it in to loosen up (what I hope) is grime holding the blade in place.
-Thanks

It is probably rust and grime, you could soak it in tranny oil, thats a pretty good penetrator, so is Kroil if you can find it!

Have you tried WD40? I have loosened bolts from hubs and transmissions and all sorts of dirty, stuck bolts and screws with this stuff. Available everywhere, spray on, let sit for 5 mins and voilĂ!

I would check any of them or the hardware store, if you cant find it in one of these places, Glen provided a link in his post.

Yes they can irritate the skin but a quick rinse in hot water and a wipe on a towel or TP takes care of that......
Wd-40 is good but Kroil is way, way, way, better for penatration... I think I saw Kroil at the local ACE hardware store too you might call them.. IIRC the name came from "Creeping Oil"
This is what many shooters use to clean their barrels with when using Moly coated bullets, as it can actually penetrate between the Moly and the barrel steel.....Last edited by gssixgun; 12-21-2008 at 06:44 AM.
