    I use a peen hammer of 2oz or 4oz and yes 1/16 is pretty much a standard rod size used for peening. As to washers you have a choice of #0, #0 wide and even #00.
    If you can find a hammer lighter than the 5 1/2 oz I would go for the lighter one.
