You may have got lucky. There have been several guys who have had problems with getting the edge on the scalloped back blades to endure. They get very sharp, but don't last long. I got the best edge out of mine with 3 layers! It's holding up very well now. Also going straight from the BBW to Thuringian improved it drastically.

I have heard some of the stories. I held my breath until it arrived. It was mailed from Solingen, Germany. I hear there is some NOS coming out of Poland as well. Didn't Lynn or another seller have some stock back in 2005?

Not sure if they're from the same stash as the Polish seller.

Very nice, I think you have the proportions right. Those big Friodur blades deserve man-sized scales. I have one (in lesser scales) and I enjoy it more than any other of my razors. At the risk of resurrecting another thread, it does feel "badass."

There you go! You're a man now my son. And with two at once on your first time. That deserves bragging rights.

This is for feedback. With no tape I seem to be holding a good solid edge on both Friodurs. I fought my rotation and went back to the Round Tip yesterday which does not angle as well as the Spanish Point, but is soooo balanced.
