It was honed, was one of my regular rotation....it is really hard to see the bevel on this one but used to be great shaver.....

It looks like there is no crack running to the spine....just along the bevel 1mm deep and about 7mm long..

Yes it is still on the razor...looks like a tiny piece of paper....my bigger grit is the 200 from Norton, and the lapping stone also from Norton....should I use one of those to start?

Too bad, brother! The exact same thing happened to mine, except my blade was chipped in multiple locations, and far deeper. I had to conduct a solemn blade burial ceremony. I think that is one drawback of these stainless steel scales--it makes the razor far more precarious to grasp, and it is prone to slippage, even from dry hands. Good luck honing that chip out!

I vote for new razor time!

But, yes, the Wapi is completely saveable.

Ah, I was going by the lack of wear on the spine. It must have been honed very carefully and/or with tape. Or just the camera angle maybe.

You are right.....tape on the bevel while on the stones...

I have visions of a blade completely wrapped in tape! Bevel, spine & the bit in between. That keeps them pristine!

You know Victor, a very Special Gentleman here on SRP sent me some blades to hone, fix, and give away, as the need arises.... There is a brand new never been honed Wapi in there and I can have it honed and on it's way to you before the weekend if you would like.... That way for sure you have a good one ready to go....

First of all thanks a lot for your help and offer...although it is a very tempting offer, let's do the following....starting today I will try to get this Wapi fixed....I will hone it to remove the "little" nick....if I'm not able to get this one back to life....I will accept your offer....

Thanks a again for your contributions to this forum....
