Hi, guys. Let me describe my problem with the razor I am cleaning now. Your opinion is welcome!!

In the pics below you see a small area (1/4" x 1/4" ) of the head of the razor (8/8 W&B barber's notch). The area has been cleaned with a polishing compound (like MAAS) and you can see what remains. Is it rust? Is it active rust? Is it Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC)? [Pics seems quite similar]

I think I won't use sandpaper and stop at this point. Steel seems OK.

If you need help you had better start a new thread... however judging from the pics it would appear to be the remnants of pits, if you want to get rid of them, then light sanding with 600 - 800 grit sandpaper would be a good idea.
It seems to be only cosmetic and will not affect the shave... keep her dry and she should be fine.

Its on the tip. Start with 150 until its almost gone, then progress up to 1k. Polish and your done. I wouldn't risk keeping it, its pretty bad. Plus its pretty easy to get rid of and in a small area.

    Thanks for your help!

Why a new thread? Isn't it the same problem? I try to avoid starting new threads on the same topic.

    Sorry, ignore that first sentence...
You are indeed correct; it is the same issue so no need to start a new thread.
