    Default Edge on my Wedge

Ok so here is the issue, I picked up this wedge for a project and it was totally dull when I got it. I couldn't even scratch myself with it. So I worked it on a Coticule and a blue for several laps, but I just did'nt have the patience to try to set the bevel. I read the wiki on it, but honestly I had about 400 passes and wasn't making much headway. So I put it to a very coarse diamond that was about 400 grit. It definately shaves now after about 50 passes there and then probably 100 blue and then 250 coticule. I know I should have run a 1000 in between, but at the time I didn't have one. Here is the deal, the bevel is kind of wide i think and also it is'nt straight across on one side. it goes teh length of one side of the edge and on the other, it is high in the middle and low on the heel and toe. I feel like the blade mith be kind of warped, but the spine is straight. Here are some photos if anyone has any input or advice. Sorry for the bad photos, I don't know how you guys do it.

Have you run a sharpie across the bevel and then hit it on the hone to see where your high and low spots are?

If not try that then give it a little 1k love with some pressure.

I did awhile ago after a few passes it really does show up just like the edge looks on one side it is not making good contact on the heel and toe and on the other side it is pretty much ok. Does the bevel look too wide? None of my other razors have an edge on them that wide

I ask Glen that same question. His answer was that it depends on the "wedginess" of the blade. Some of the blades that he hones the bevel was a good 3/32" wide others 1/16".

I think your ok. Perhaps try some toe forward and heal forward to pull it in line. My Micro tome has a similar problem and that is how I pulled it in line.

Will do , thanks a bunch, that is all I was really worried about. It is sharp and shaves well. It passes most of the standard tests. I appreciate the feedback.

Shave test is all that matters. On wedges, I usually find that I have to grind them a little more than hollows. I think I hate them. But dammit, they shave so damn well!!!! WTG is like taking a chainsaw to a tree.
