Thread: CHEAP USB microscope

I purchased this for my son, no really. I have no need for a microscope.

Here is the website. It is a 1.3mp 200x magnification scope for $78 US shipped. It takes a week to get here from Hong Kong, but it is well worth it. It has better software for PC than MAC. If you have a MAC, it may not be worth the trouble. I really did not play with it last night to see how well it works on edges with a MAC, but my wife took the kids to beach yesterday and they picked up a bunch of stuff to look at. They found a little shrimp and brought it home. The scope got so close you could see the small worm parasites eating the dead shrimp. It zoomed real close on sand, I just have not looked at the edge magnification on a MAC.

The PC software actually allows you more control so I am pretty sure that you can look at the edges with this on a PC. I'll test that a little more too.
