I constructed a metal jig/base sort of like Bill Ellis' design, using rare earth magnets. Anyway, it holds the blade great and makes sanding soo much easier, but what I'm finding is that I'm magnetizing my razors. You wouldn't think it's that big of a deal until you try honing on one of the DMT plates!! The razor sticks to it. Some more than others. Some are like 10x the normal suction you would get on a fine hone. You might think it's great, it will keep the blade flat for you, but it's almost a PITA to push the blade across if they are too magnetized. I have still been able to get the razors that have been magnetized nice and sharp, but I just thought I would mention it.

Anyone else have a setup like this and notice the same thing?
