The one thing I would add, in addition to the very good direction of reading the unpinning and repinning how-to in the wiki, is that it is WAY easier than it looks.

Just be sure you use a ball peen hammer and not a flat hammer. About 3 good taps is enough that the washers won't fall off, and after that, it's just a matter of making it tight and attractive.


If you're really unsure about it like I was at first, you can get a set of dovo replacement pins from classicshaving.com

They're nothing special, but they have a finished end on one side, so you only have one side to peen. And of course, they come with all the appropriate washers.

That being said, if I was to do it over again, I don't think I'd bother. Pinning really is MUCH easier than it looks.
