One other idea I just had was use small silicone fish aquarium pump hose. Split it lengthwise and slip around the edge of the sharp part.

Yup, any of those solutions would work. I thought of the electrical wiring stuff because it shrinks when heated which would give a tight fit. Joe's idea of just fully replacing the top lid with another material gives you all kinds of cool looking options.

    Default Redneck Razor Holder

    I like it.

Sort of a Sweedish/Dutch Redneck Neo Realism Art Deco contraption. thing.

    Very Clever

Thanks everybody so far for the nice comments and helpful hints! BeBerlin just contacted me that he put it in the wiki, and I added some captions there.

I came across this thread some time ago and thought it was funny. Last weekend I was at IKEA(for reason unbeknownst still) and say the toothbrush stand. I couldn't resist, so I bought it(5 euro's is a steal) and filed the edges.

After filing I used a small file to remove the crud, and finished with 400 and 1k grit wet/dry sandpaper.

As I don't have a lot of razor(for shaving anyway), this is a fine stand .

Hillie, You do nice work! A simple and cheap method of getting a razor in the breeze to dry!
