Default Candidius with Palissander Santos scales

    Hi there,

Just wanted to post some pictures of my second set of razor scales and the process of making them. Any advise or tips would be appreciated!

First sawed and cut the rough outline and sawed the scales through the middle.

    Results with the blade.

Glued the scales together and sanded the outline, also rounded the edges.
First with 80 grit sandpaper, 240 and then 500.

Due to 7 picture limit, see next post!

Some fitting with the wedge from Maple wood.

Waxed the scales with Osmo Hardwax Oil, 2 layers with 24 hours dry time.

After this, I let the sets dry for another good 24 hours to harden out the wax.

So finally the results. The blade still needs some polishing, but I was too excited to wait with assembling...

    Fantasic job.
The only tip I could give is, "power tools" , if you plan on doing very many.

You've come on leaps & bounds mate! They look great & a real achievement with hand tools. The last ones weren't bad, but i know the process was a nightmare. Did you find these were easier this time round?

Good looking timber & great fit & finish.

Simple yet elegant. The scales and the spacer wood combination compliment and contrast each other very well. Great shape to your scales as well.

    Thanks for posting this.
