    You don't wear a respirator and use a collector, this crap is all in your lungs. It's not the projectiles that kill you, it's the particulate matter.
    Ben, What type of dust collector set up do you have? Just curious about what the options are.

    So if the flying razor doesn't get you, the dust will. This, and a lack of space, money, and permission from the wife, is the reason I stay away from buffers.

    Offer to buff her jewelry ...

    My parents were a bit against me getting a buffer set up (Read as: My mom didn't like the idea). When they finally caved and let me set up a small shop in the basement, before I got to any razors, I asked for her wedding band and a few other rings, and just hit them on green rouge for the ones that were just skin/sweat-stained, and white stainless then green rouge for the worse-off ones... When I gave them back to her all shiny and nice she was all for the buffing and threw more rings at me... If it works for mothers, it should work for wives
