Thanked: 580Phrank if you are meaning the Palmera, not a big deal unless it affects the edge. Sometimes you can hone past it, but those are so hollow ground sometimes the pitting can go right through from one side to the other.
Learned that lesson the hard way...

Thanks...just thought I'd share some of my research...the useful, "Search" function at the top right...can find about anything you need.
Edge is fine, the blade face just looks like the Devil horked on it....LOL...would like a nice mirror or clean finish...just went and got some 80 and 120 grit sandpaper...800 wasn't doing anything.

Thanked: 4827A not so funny tale.
I had a very nice German made hollow ground razor. It was quite wide, over 7/8, but it had a little spiting the middle of the blade. I really wanted this blade to be perfect. So I sanded and sanded and then started to progress up through the grit until I polished it up all purdy and then I went to hone it. The blade was so thin and so flexible it was impossible. By chasing the devils spit without out regard to the thickness of the metal left behind I killed a beautiful razor. The moral of the story, pretty is what pretty does, and she don't shave no more. Hit steel wool is your friend. It will take out everything softer than steel wool and everything that is harder than steel wool can stay right there. If you can get it all out with steel wool it will show you how deep the pits go and you can decide to sand or not. It does leave a nice satinish finish too. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
