Looks great as it is. Now, dress it up with some ebony - or buffalo horn scales.

I know what the blade looked like originally, so I can say that this result is very, very good. So far it looks like a landslide victory for leaving the satin finish.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I vote leave the satin finish.Amboyna burl scales would be great with that blade.
