    I have used all of them. I get most of my wood in turning stock and then resaw it in the bandsaw to 1/8 then run it through a surfacing sander to get out the mill marks and the final desired thickness. I actually think 1/8 is to thick for scales, I usually shave my scales down another couple 32nds.

    I have to agree on the thickness. I ended up sanding down probably 1/3 of the 1/8" I started with.
