The metal lining on the wedge looks great! Really classy.

I use wood and a wood glue. I've got Bill Ellis' cd and that's the way he does it.

Having never watched Bill's dvd I gotta ask the question, are you gluing the wedge to the scales??? on both sides??? Is that what the dvd said?? or is that your interpretation???

Thanks for all your advice on the lined wedge. I'm done sanding and I have 2 light spots on either side of the wedge. Please look at the picture attached and let me know what you make of this. There is no finish on this and it's not glued in. Its just held together by the screw. It's not anywhere else along the wedge. What can I do about this?

    Thanks,
    Doug

If you sanded the metal and wood together, it could be caused by some metal dust getting into the wood. I'm not experienced in these matters, just an idea. If so, it would probably come out when the wood is finished, or you could just try rinsing it off (bad idea?).

I have never seen that before, I have had discoloration, but never lighter always it has been darker from heat...I have just sanded it slowly and cleared it up...
