I would definitely try to keep the Boker original.

The James Barlow is the only one I would consider re scaling myself if it were mine especially if you end up restoring that blade to an excellent condition and using it as part of your shaving collection. The original scales seem to be partly discolored (unless it's your lighting) but if they clean up really well then keeping them would also be an option.

Either way you've got some new razors in your possession.

Thanks! I agree about the boker. I think it would be hard to match the scales to the tang. As for the chopper, I am anxious to get it up and going as I have never shaved with one. I think I will rescale it, as I have a new pair of copper scales (http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...er-scales.html) for a look see. Thanks for you advice and knowledge sharing. Your work is inspiring

No way you should rescale that Boker. Especially because the tang has the same material and color of the scales. They are very unique and if you clean them up nicely this will be a great addition to your collection not to mention a great shaver.

Sand really slow. Use a wire brush first. You don't want to lose any of those beautiful leaves and the "B" stamped on the blade.

Good luck. Post pics again when your done with the resto.

I think you need to keep both scales, they are beautiful, if you are not keen on how to clean them thoroughly, send them out to one of the restorers. Iv seen scales worse than that come back looking brand new. Good Luck
