    In the UK it is easiest to find brass, stainless steel & aluminium rod at Model Engineer suppliers (e.g. Squires).

    I would expect you would have similar vendors in the US.

    They are most useful for things like 1 1/2 oz ball pein hammers, small anvils, bar stock etc.
