I smack #0wide washers from microfasteners with a hammer to flatten em out a bit. works too. sometimes they get a little oval-ish, depending on how hard ya smack em

This looks like a good idea though.

I bought a sheet of brass just for this, just haven't gotten around to it yet...too dang cold in the shop. I DID get the idea from the original post though....had to poke you in the ribs for that one! I too have come up with some "original" ideas, to only find out that someone had stolen the idea from me months or years before I came up with it.

I have a patent on a handicapped device. I can't tell you how many ideas I have come up with but did not have the money for a patent or to manufacture and market it.

You can buy them. Microfasteners has a good variety of washers. I use the #0 washers for the outside and the #0 wide washers for the inside unless I have a set of originals. You can stack the washers for the stacked look also. I have been getting the stainless ones locally since they seem to be alittle different and polish up better, but I can't find the brass anywhere except a hobby shop, but for $4 for 8 I would rather order them. This reminds me I need to get some more.

Thank you fore the reply! Im stubborn though and am trying to avoid ordering anything. locally I found the #0 washers but only in stainless, and I think I'm going to make my own thrust washers out of brass sheets. Do you think that the stainless #0 washers will be ok because they will be covered up by the brass ro after pinning anyway or will it look tacky if the silver color comes through?

The stainless will be ok. I have done quite a few razors where I used stainless washers with brass rod. I think some scales the stainless/brass combo works really well. Some I like to use just brass and some I like the stainless/nickel silver combo or even the brass/nickel silver combo.

I use brass shim sheet & have flatterned some narrow SS washers also for thrust washers
if you minimse your pin mushrooming the ss washers will give a step to the brass pin

Thats pretty cool! So I guess I need to thing of just intentionally having some silver show and it will be great. I really like that especially if I were to high polish each one.

    Thanks for sharing
