Sweeney Todd, - Not an Ebay question

I know there's lots of topics on the sweeney todd razors form ebay, and they're all cheap shit. In the movie though when they were custom made Johnny Depp requested them to be push button released (like a switch blade) And these were made, and all sorted... Now my question is how the hell would u go about doing something like that? I personally think that would be awesome for the shave, Looking in the mirror, beards preped... click, razors ready

Would it be possible to do for a practical shave? Time and fiddly bits don't really matter when it comes to custom blades, the different the better i say

I think it would be cool, but it would be best if it opened more than 180*. It's also great to see Johnny talk about razors and how he wanted custom touches. Maybe he's got RAD and is a secret member on here.

Yeah, I remember that scene where he strops very slowly with the edge leading and the spine raised. My family got a bit annoyed with me pointing out all the shaving errors in that film..!

Sadly, spring loaded blades are illegal in a lot of places.
I would also think they would be dangerous and hard to hone, since the angle to open it to for shaving isn't the same as for honing.

I think it would be great to see somthing like that that is really a shaver. Can you imagine what your wifes would say? "What, you got what? Your gonna rip your face off."

cause none of us do anything illegal

I personally reckon, that would be the coolest shave ever! click, bang razors out... honing wise, you'd be able to semi close the scales they just wouldn't fold all the way back... or do they need to? I'm as yet to learn to hone... My wife would just shake her head and walk away... I've found it's better to ask forgiveness then permission most of the time

Honing aside, it doesn't open up far enough for most styles of shaving... Only far enough to be a knife... That's why, if you look closely in the movie, the bevel is massive...

Or just make it 2 positions-straight open for honing or whatever, and shave position. I don't think spring assisted blades are illegal in most places, at least that's what the sign in the knife store here says. He sells all kinds of them.
