Jimps
Is it possible to put Jimps into an existing blade without annealing it? I have a KB that I like but there are no jimps and I like them for holding on.

A dremel and cutting disc should do the trick, be careful with the tool and be sure to keep the blade cool so as not to screw up the temper. If you dont mind the slow work a small file would also do the trick without the danger.

I recall someone, I think it was Joe Chandler, posting that he had seen a guy tape a jigsaw blade to the side of the tang as a guide for the spacing. Following the teeth in the jigsaw blade made for even spacing. I've never tried this myself.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I guess the results would depend on how hard the tang is and what your cutting tool will be. You could try annealing the tang with a torch with the blade portion in bucket of water. I would try with a beater razor first and get the process down. I learned this process from people that are smarter than me
