Thanked: 13245W.G. Wilton "Celebrated Razor" Big ole Chopper
This is going to be a very special re-build on this oldie moldie...
Here are some before pics
And some after the initial polishing to see what is really under there...
A little hint about the outcome of this re-build

Thanked: 1371I hope you're planning on dressing it in something that looks like it could have been made in the time the blade was manufactured. I would love to see that old blade fixed back up to it's original glory.

Thanked: 13245I have a PM in to the 3 guys that might be able to get me some info on the Maker so I have some ideas of what I might do, but nothing definite yet... Right now I have some very dense Thuya Burl layed up for scales but haven't made up my mind yet if I am even using it ..
I have it polished out but still have some very minor pitting showing, so I might leave it, or might go a bit heavier and try and take it all out....

Thanked: 1072That looks like its going to be a fun one to restore. I'm sure it'll make a nice before and after comparison.

Thanked: 3164Hi Glen - haven't found anything useful, really, other than there was an Ironmerchant of that name in Redruth, Cornwall, England. His premises were burned down in 1890, but the business had been there for generations.
However, I think that it could be "W. C. Wilton" possibly from Maine, USA.
Regards,
Neil
