Man, I am speechless That is a real work of art. A true classic. This and Bill's should have been sold as a pair - Classic and Modern. Both of you guys are true artists.

Beautiful work, Vlad! I know full well how much time and patience and attention to detail that takes. Kudos!

For a little more inspiration to get your own razors cleaned up, I found a picture of how this razor looked when I got it. I thought I did not take any pictures but stumbled on it while looking for something else.
BTW, all the positive sentiment is great but I am feeling nervous. I don't want you to be dissapointed if I won't be able to top this result.
So I would urge you not to expect better stuff from me, just more stuff.

I mean just look at that thing. Tell me you're not proud of the accomplishment.

X, I am very proud of the accomplishment. I am glad I managed to do it. It is very satisfying, BUT
When I was working on this razor I just wanted to get as good a result as I could. Now, I can see that there is a down side. I raised the expectations of what I have to live up to on future projects.
I guess if I can't duplicate the result, I can always look at this as my 15 minutes of fame .

Vlad,
That etching on the blade really makes that razor. Well done. I'm got it in my eBay watch list but I suspect it'll go for well over what my budget is. Someday though.....

Ed, I can sympathize about the budget.
I tell you that I worked the phone like a madman trying to get a positive response to the contract position on Thursday. That way I could keep this razor for myself.
I am glad to see that it is doing well on e-bay, but man it would have been so welcome in my shaving rotation.Last edited by vladsch; 05-13-2006 at 05:51 AM.

Vlad,
I'm sure there will be other razors that come along that you restore that you'll like just as much. The quality of your work makes that easy for me to say.
