Thanked: 1Where can I buy pins and hardware
I have been shaving with straight razor for 37 years. About 25 years ago I bought a new CMON Cadillac at a barber supply outlet. Back then they were $35. It needs new scales. I would like to make my own but I do not know where to source the hardware to attach them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I sourced some pins and washers from ebay, came with a hell of a lot of washers and about 18inch of pinning rod. haven't had the chance to use them yet so i can't attest to their quality but they were relatively cheap

Thanked: 275If you're willing to have slightly clunky fittings, try the "size 0" stainless-steel bolts, washers, and nuts (search eBay for "straight razor fasteners") -- available from seller "rambus007".
Or in larger quantities, from Micro Fasteners - Hobbyists Source - Locknuts - Washers - Machine Screws - Fasteners - Rivets - Wood Screws

Thanked: 983Try Texas or Jantz knife making supplies. They have a huge variety to pick and choose from.

Thanked: 121Welcome, Exitpupil!
It seems to me that you have much to offer -- hardwon knowledge over your years of straight shaving. Please describe your experiences shaving, stropping, honing, etc. What have you learned? What works for you?
There is so much speculation and opinion on so many things in these forums, IMHO. Please share your thoughts. I guarantee many of us will be listening attentively. Thanks.

Thanked: 1Thank you for the replies. I found what I think I need under brass finishing nails at McMaster-Carr. I use them fairly frequently for other things. Their service is very prompt. I don't know if they ship overseas? Worth checking.
