Thanked: 9If you don't want to polish the whole blade you can use a glass fibre pen to remove the rusty spots on the blade. The rust is usually deeper than what you see.
I would suggest to re-set the bevel with a lower grit stone after cleaning up the rusty spots before you move on to finer hones.

ok tried some wd 40 didnt remove much rust at all so then i used some clr (calcium lime and rust remover) it did a great job it took care of the red and black rust it revealed the steel was pitted under the rust so on to the sanding 800 grit 1500 grit 2000 grit all an all it took about two hours of sanding then on to the honing . it had a small nick at the toe of the blade so i bread knifed it on a soft ark stone then set the bevel on my yellow coticule . then honed it on my belgian natural combination stone. so here's the before pic

Thanked: 9You did a very good job. The razor looks much better now. It was well worth the effort of polishing the whole blade.
Happy shaving.
