What type of metal polish should I use?
Is it special stuff for razors or will the hardware store stuff work?

Nothing specific for razors that I am aware of but most here use Maas and Flitz. I use Maas and it works great, Flitz might be a little easier to get a hold of in your local hardware store however.

Hi,
Used blue magic for a while, but Maas really makes for a bright finish.

+1 on the Mass, I get Mass at my local hardware store. In my opinion it works better on the razors than Flitz

I have been using Maas but I understand Flitz and Simichrome are equally good and in some cases more readily available.

I use Wright's brass polish on a cut off small paint brush, a tooth brush, and pipe cleaners to start the final cleaning and then Maas on a tissue or rag to polish from there. In 50+ years of shining things, I've not found a more effective polish for renewing a finish. I seldom use the buffer after using the Maas!
Ace Hardware usually carries Maas. And grocery stores usually hide the brass polish by the silver polishes.
And the Wright's gets a SE or DE clean really quick (Something in the formula loosens gunk). Mass then polishes it and each time it is applied the metal becomes shinier.
A good cheap cleaner is Mr Clean from the dollar stores.

There are 2 Ace's near me but neither carries Maas. I had to order mine from the Maas website.

Thanked: 993I also use Maas, and I find it works brilliantly for me. Easy to apply, and easy to buff. I much prefer it to the Mother's products that I have had experience with.
