I found it useful to politely thank them for their time and then come back 6 months later. I then mention that the same razor was there 6 months ago and then I make my offer again.

    Just an idea,

Anyway good find, let us know how the baby shaves.

That's a great idea and it will sometimes work. There's two shops in this area that would rather burn their items than reduce the prices they put on them. One fellow had an old worn out strop for $25.00. I wanted it mostly for the hardware since the condition wasn't optimal. I offered $15.00. He literally told me to "go to h*@#." Several months later I had my wife call and ask about it. He cursed her out too. He went out of business and auctioned the goods. Any idea what the starting bids were on his stuff? They STARTED the bids at his indoor asking price. They didn't sell hardly anything.

The other store here had some straight razors for sale for $70.00 and higher. Evidently someone came in before me and offered them about $10.00 a piece for them, to buy the lot. The lady promptly boxed them up and put them in her basement. According to the cashier they've been boxed over a year and the owner refuses to bring them out.

Anyways. I shaved with the 13/16 clauss again this a.m. This time I did the sink shave instead of the shower shave. My whiskers usually don't get as soft with my sink shaves so I figured it would be a good test. I was duly impressed. My wife keeps feeling up my face. She's doing it now and getting on to me for typing this. I better go

I love the fact that they went out of business. It shows they weren't business men. In addition they seem to have forgotten "The customer is always right"

I don't know about the customer being always right. I've been in CS and dealt with some real space cadets. We would suspend their credit terms for non-payment and then they'd get mad because they had to pay before we shipped out the merchandise. Others would let the packaged order sit on our shelves for 3 weeks, promissing payment and then they'd call out of the blue and cancel it.

Anyways... This knife shop in a local mall is selling a Dovo 5/8 half hollow for $130 plus tax! The dingy strop that looked like one of those Pakistanis cost like $70. When I saw that, I started laughing so hard the sales associate thought I was mad. Ofcourse they didn't sell any real hones and the guy didn't know jack about straights. I don't know if anyone ever bought one of those from them.

Did you curse at them??? Probably not so you still had a chance to do future business with them.
