Thanked: 8Satin or super shiny finish ?
Having seen a few restorations and looking at some NOS Friodurs etc I've come to the decision that a satin, just ground finish look is more pleasing to me than a highly polished shiny chrome look.
Very fine striations running from spine to edge look nice.
Anyone got any views on this ?.

I think I'd have to prefer the nice shiny polished look. Just personal preference.
On my knives, however, I prefer the satin or bead blasted finish.

Or you could go for a contrast. Satin blade and highly polished scales or vice versa.

I prefer mirror finish. The moisture has no place to hold on, and it's easier to clean...

Nenad is right when you think about it. Practical engineering approach. However, well-treated scales don't need a high polish

I'm kinda partial to the high mirror finish on a razor. It shows a greater degree of workmanship, and as Nenad said, it resists corrosion better, and is easier to clean.

I have an older TI Spartacus with a mirror finished blade. For some reason it always sems to stick to my face when shaving unlike those with a more satin finish. I have other polished TI razors but this has a much higher polish.

There's nothing like a mirror polished blade. You know you are using a real quality instrument.

I don't really care.. All that matters is how sharp is that blade
