There are several members that restore razors, I would suggest checking out the member services area here Member Services - Straight Razor Place Classifieds

That one surely looks like a winner. It will take some work and a new bevel, but has lots of meat left on the bone, from the pics! Congrats!!

Doesn't look like it should be hard to fix up... provided the discoloration is as superficial as it seems in the photos, that should turn out to be a very nice razor! Although time and water have stained it, it looks like the previous owner was careful with it.

OVB stands for "Our Very Best" and Hibbard, Spencer and Bartlett were well known cutlery makers/distributors in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Maybe longer lived but I'm too lazy to go to Goin's. Their pocket knives from back then are collectible. Ought to be a good shaver.

    Default Found a guy

Thanks all. Looks like I found a guy willing to do this. I'll be getting it out on Friday and we'll see how it looks and works restored. Got Glenn at Gem Star. Seem satisfied he's going to do as good a job as can be done.

Yeah, I heard somewhere that he does OK work.
    Sorry Glen.

misterelie: nice razor, and Glen will bring it back into shape. He cleaned up my heirloom razor when I was first starting out and now it's one of my special occasion shavers.

Looking through the crud, I'd say that's going to be a heck of a shaver.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.
