    Default Mis ~ Nomers

I've noticed a lot of new words to describe the parts of a razor being bandied about here on the forums. Some of the new guys may get confused.

Here is a chart of words that have been used for a very long time. "Toe" might become one, but it really wasn't around much a few years back that I can remember.

Thanks for posting that. Although if this is one of YOUR razors, I believe you should have put "VERY SHARP edge"!

I often refer to the point as the tip and sometimes the toe, but the one that surprises me is the tang. What I know as the tang is what you call the long tang or tail. What you have listed as the tang I would call the shank or perhaps the grip.

    Excellent idea Bill.

I think I've got most of my terminology correct.

I love the razor and the scale shape is very very nice.

Maybe one word for the whole thing..minty..

Same here. It seems that most people understood when I was explaining, so, is it entirely incorrect to use this terminology?

My intent is not to be the "terminology" police. Just thought you may want to know what the standard words to the parts of a razor were.

If you want to make up your own, knock yourself out

My use of the toe and heel terms stems from my feeble attempts at snowboarding without hurting myself. In any case, thanks Bill.

WOW! I actually had some free time to check out the forums!!!

Oh no, he was in Vietnam and he's retired now, heck he's a Boomer so I'd say he qualifies as old.
I better watch what I say or he'll poison my new razor.

Naw... but I need to tighten some screws. The blade looks narrow enough to fit. The tip of it, anyway.
