i think no one is answering because it's already been answered, to a degree. masecraft.com is one place, but the web site shows only 5" stuff, but if you call, as i did when i wanted to know about all this a few weeks ago, you will find that if you explain what you're using it for, and that you are a member here, that there is more stuff to be had than what shows up on their website. i was specifically looking for the tortoiseshell that gsssixgun used on a restore he posted recently, and they had it. i think the senior members here get tired of answering the same old questions, so i'm stepping up here to pass along what they passed along to me. kind of like surgery, or making croissants...see one, do one, teach one.

Ah, I appreciate it. I hadn't seen that info in the sticky, or anywhere else before.

I hadn't seen anything about this before either. There's so much information around here that its easy to miss stuff!
BTW I did see the homemade micarta stuff online. Very cool. That's what got me thinking. I've already changed gears again and am working on a steampunk style with brass and wood. I have the stuff to make micarta. Maybe this weekend I'll try it out. I'd love to use some paper with stuff printed on it but I'm not sure if it will work once the resin is applied. I guess I'll have to experiment

You sure it's Micarta because fiberglass impregnated resin is G10. Micarta comes only in paper, linen or canvas / resin.
They have a nice assortment especially the faux tortoise shell that comes in 6" long sheet.
