Gorgeous as usual, Bill.
And the razor is pretty nice, too

Bill, the first picture looks great from here. The wood looks fantastic and your work is always a cut above.

Please excuse me while I go get a tissue to wipe the drool dripping off my chin...
Also I reading a post the other day talking about grinds. Is this what you would call a wedge?

Yes that is a wedge. Instead of the blade going from very thin and then up to an upward arch to the spine, the wedge is more like a triangle I guess you could say.

Thanked: 346There is a slight hollow on that blade -- you can see it on the end shots, and can see it indirectly because of the distinctly polished bevel and spine -- the hone didn't touch the middle of the blade.
I'd still call it a wedge, though.

These are beautiful scales Bill. I have a set of your desert ironwood scales and can vouch for the fact that the wood is stunning. You don't see the gold veins in the photos but can't miss them when holding it in your hands.
I can just imagine what the scales look like when the gold streaks are enhanced by the CA finish.

And to think there are more 7/8 wedges somewhere in Bill's workshop... Don't fight it.. Just give in to the temptation

'Tis My Lucky Day!
OH, JL doesn't want it, eh?! Awesome! I'll take it. You did just pass it over didn't you, JL? Anybody who doesn't instantly post "Great, thanks. It's mine" isn't serious about shaving with a super hefty blade that has scales no picture could ever do justice. Do the pics do justice to these ironwood scales?
Well you can't really see in the pic but, no they don't.
So just let me know how much is too much for little JL and I'll justify your beautiful hard work, Bill. And Bill really does beautiful work too. Isn't this a beautiful wedge?
Yes it is! So what do I need with another William Ellis masterpiece? NOTHING! But I shure will take it.
And thanks for passing this by JL. It'll look GREAT beside my other two.
