    I pinned it together and the wedge is off. I'm debating between sanding it again while it's pinned as-is and repinning it and adjusting the wedge's alignment. I hand filed the pins down and I'm pretty sure that I bent them or mis-aligned them during that process.

    I'm looking at revisiting this project this long holiday weekend along with thinning out and tapering the first one I made in purplewood.

    A dremel is your friend... Or a set of big dykes. I like my dykes.
    The lifetime warranty is really nice for when they chip.

    I have a feeling that the scales will be a bit heavy and awkward, however they are interesting indeed.

    I had just bought a pair of flush cut dykes and promptly misplaced them prior to pinning... I just picked up a used variable speed dremel last weekend.... It will be part of the pinning process.
