Done.
Done...well its put together. I can now see the design on all four inlays, all rust has been removed and most of the pitting, and after a little bit of time on my nortons it will already take off arm hair. Sorry for the lower quality of my pics. I can get better ones on Sunday. I think its a lot better than it was, and I know there are some parts of the process I need to work on. especially pinning. I am open to advice, (I'm certainly not perfect) life is about learning.
I started with a 60 and went through the progression of grits to 320.I then moved onto to a bit of polishing of the blade, and then the inlays. when I first received the razor one of the pins was pulled through the scales where the blade was attached. I filled the existing holes with epoxy mixed with a little brown and yellow food coloring to match color, then re drilled the holes to fit the new pins.

Bondpunk,
It looks like you did a nice job to me. Considering the damage around the pins, you've done well to even keep the original scales. The only advice I would have, is to progress further with sandpaper grits before jumping onto the polish, maybe up to 1200 or 2000 grit. I think it gives a smoother polished finish. You can normally pick up the 1200 grit at the local hardware and the 2000 grit at auto supply stores.
That being said, well done. Look great. Hope it shaves as well as I looks.

Really like the scales on the De-Fi. I have a De-Fi as well but my scales are nowhere near as nice as those.
Here is mine

dyimages, I like the scales on yours, the black and brown contrast nicely gives you something to look at other than plain black scales.

+1 on the kudos for a nicely done job. I've only had one Wester, but it was an excellent shaver. I'll bet you like this one alot.

thanks guys.
I started on another razor after work today its from Levering Razor co. from what I found in the threads some say they are ok. My buddy wants to start shaving so I figured it would make a nice gift. It had a lil bit of etching on it with some eye strain and a magnifying glass I was able to read what it originally said. I found an easier way for me to remove the pins. I have flush cut wire cutters. i set them on the scales and snipped off the rusted washer and pin, then I was able to push the rest of the pin out with a push pin. Took a lot less time than carefully filing them off and didn't damage the scales.
